About Transez
Transez is built by TRANSEZ LTD, a small software company registered in England and Wales. We make two things: an AI tool that turns messy documents into clean spreadsheets, and a set of free PDF utilities that run entirely inside your browser.
Who is behind Transez
Jay Li is the founder of Transez and the person who designs, builds and ships it. He has spent his career in software product work — most recently as a Senior Product Manager at Advance Intelligence Group — before going independent to build document tools full time.
That background is the reason this product looks the way it does. Working alongside teams whose job was to get numbers out of documents, the recurring problem was never the conversion itself — it was the cleanup afterwards. On top of that, most tools asked people to hand confidential invoices and bank statements to a server they knew nothing about. Transez is built around those two observations: define the columns first so the output is actually usable, and keep the file on your own device wherever it is technically possible.
Staying a one-person company is a deliberate choice, not a stage to grow out of. The person who answers your email is the person who wrote the code, bug reports turn into fixes instead of tickets, and no feature ships just to hit a growth target. It is also why this site tells you which tools run locally and which one does not, rather than claiming everything is private.
What we build
1. AI document extraction
Drop in an invoice, a bank statement, a receipt, a packing list or a scanned page, and Transez writes the data into Excel. Instead of guessing at a fixed template, you describe the columns you want — vendor, date, total, PO number — and the extraction is mapped onto that structure. You can download a real .xlsx file, or write rows straight into the Google Sheets you are already working in with our add-on.

2. A free, private PDF toolkit
Merge, split, compress, rotate, crop, organize, number, watermark, repair, extract pages, convert to JPG, convert from JPG, scan with a phone camera, and pull images out of spreadsheets. Fifteen tools, no account required, no page limits.
These run locally — the work happens on your own device and your files are never uploaded. We published the details so you can check it yourself: security and data handling.
Why we built it
Retyping numbers from a PDF into a spreadsheet is one of the most common and least rewarding tasks in an office. The tools that claim to solve it usually fail in the same place: they convert the layout rather than the data. Everything lands in merged cells, one invoice becomes twelve rows, and the spreadsheet is unusable until somebody fixes it by hand.
The fix is to start from the structure instead of the pixels. When you decide the columns first, the extraction has an unambiguous target, and a hundred different invoice layouts still arrive in one consistent table. That is the whole idea behind Transez, and it is why the same export works whether you feed it a digital PDF, a photo of a receipt or a multi-hundred-page scan.
Principles we hold to
- →Private by default. If a job can be done on your device, it is done on your device. That is why the entire PDF toolkit runs in-browser. The AI extraction needs a server, so we describe exactly what happens to your file rather than hiding behind a vague privacy claim.
- →No subscription trap. Page packs never expire. If you need 400 pages this month and nothing for the next three, you buy one pack and it waits for you.
- →Your data is not the product. We do not sell documents, extraction results or contact details, and uploaded documents are not used to train models.
- →Say the limitation out loud. Compressing a PDF rasterizes its pages, so the text layer is lost. Repairing a PDF cannot restore bytes that were never downloaded. We would rather you read that before you use the tool than discover it afterwards.
